ABSTRACT Kristin Bumbungan (2420207432), thesis title "Analysis of Women's Involvement in Speaking in the Ma'parampo Tradition in Ponglu' According to Judith Butler's Gender Perspective". Sociology of Religion Study Program, Faculty of Theology and Christian Sociology, Toraja State Christian Institute (IAKN). Supervised by Piter Randan Bua S.KM., M.Si (Supervisor I) and Masnawati, S.Sos., M.Pd (Supervisor II). This study aims to analyze women's non-participation in speaking during the Ma'parampo tradition in Ponglu' from the perspective of Judith Butler's gender theory. The Ma'parampo tradition, as part of the cultural life of the Ponglu' community, reflects social interaction patterns dominated by men, particularly in the context of speaking. This research employs a qualitative method with an ethnomethodological approach to explore the social and cultural practices underlying this phenomenon. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that, viewed through Judith Butler's perspective, there is discrimination against women in the Ma'parampo tradition, particularly in their exclusion from speaking roles. Keywords: Discrimination, Ethnomethodology, Gender, Judith Butler, Ma'parampo.
