Abstract

Status sosial merupakan sesuatu yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Toraja dalam menentukan tingkatan seseorang dalam masyarakat. Akan tetapi yang menjadi persoalan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana status sosial atau stratafikasi menjadi penentu dalam memilih pasangan hidup. Dengan adanya larang tidak diperbolehkanya menikah apabila tidak mempunyai status yang sama maka timbul ketidakadilan gender bagi laki-laki dan perempuan. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini hadir untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana kasus tersebut terjadi yang ditinjau dari persfektif Pendidikan Agama Kristen dan implikasinya bagi isu gender. Dalam menyelesaikan penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus. Adapun hasil penelitian yang ditemukan yaitu terdapat kasus larangan perkawinan beda kasta yang terjadi pada tahun 2020. Larangan perkawinan beda kasta ini masih dipertahankan oleh sebagian masyarakat yang ada disana dengan alasan bahwa untuk menjaga martabat keluarga dan menghindarkan keluarga dari rasa malu. Kata Kunci: Perkawinan, Kasta/Tana’, Pendidikan Agama Kristen, Gender ABSTRACT Reti Pareallo, Social Status is something that is used by the Toraja People to determine a person’s level ini society. However, the problem in this study is how social status or Stratafication becomes a determinat in choosing a life patner. With the prohibition of not being allowed to marry if you do not have the same status, there is what is called gender injustice for men and women who are going to the married. Therefore, this study is here to describe how the case occurred which is reviewed from the perspective og Christian religious education and its benefits for gender issues. In completing this studi, the researcher used a qualitative research method using a case study approach. The research result found that there were of probhibitions on inter-caste marriages that accurred in 2020. This prohibition on inter-caste marriaages is still maintained by some of the people there on the grounds that it is to maintain the dignity of the family and prevent the family feeling ashamed.
