Abstract

ABSTRAK Skripsi ini dengan judul “MA’ PAMANTA’: Analisis Tentang Respon Gereja terhadap Ritual Ma’ Pamanta’ yang Dilakukan oleh Anggota Jemaat Gereja Toraja Jemaat To’rea Klasis Lamasi”, Skripsi ini di bimbing oleh bapak Dr. Rannu Sanderan M.Th dan bapak Dr. Yonatan Sumarto M.Th skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang respon gereja terhadap ritual ma’ pamanta’ yang dilakukan oleh anggota Jemaat To’rea. Penulis mengangkat topik ini di latar belakangi, seperti ada kesenjangan antara kepercayaan sebagai orang Kristen dengan praktek ritual, dengan demikian tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon gereja terhadap ritual ma’ pamanta’ dan bagaimana pemahaman teologisnya terhadap anggota jemaat yang melakukan ritual ma’ pamanta’, dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan penelitian kualitatif melalui teknik pengumpulan studi pustaka, observasi penelitian, dan wawancara dengan menetapkan 8 informan yang terdiri dari pendeta, majelis gereja, anggota jemaat, dan orang melakukan ritual ma’ pamanta’. Dengan demikian dari penelitian ini, ritual ma’ pamanta’ dilakukan dengan harapan agar supaya hujan tidak dapat membuat acara tersebut terganggu dan pada saat proses menabur bibit padi tidak membuat bibit-bibit tersebut terhambur, di mana ritual ma’ pamanta’ ini masih di percaya dan di praktekkan oleh sebagian kecil anggota Jemaat To’rea sampai sekarang. Penulis mengharapkan warga jemaat sungguh-sungguh hidup dalam ajaran Kristen dan meninggalkan paham-paham lama yang bertentangan dengan ajaran kekristenan. Kata Kunci: Gereja, Ma’ Pamanta’ ABSTRACT Thesis with the title "MA' PAMANTA Analysis of the Church's Response to the Ma'Pamanta' Ritual Performed by Members of the Toraja Church Congregation of the To'rea Klasis Lamasi Congregation", This thesis was supervised by Mr. Dr. Rannu Sanderan M.Th and Mr. Dr. Yonatan Sumarto M.Th This thesis aims to analyze the church's response to the ma'pamanta' ritual carried out by members of the To'rea Congregation. The author raises this topic in the background, as it were the gap between beliefs as Christians and ritual practice, thus the aim of this research is to find out the church's response to the ma' uncleta' ritual and how its theological understanding of congregation members who carry out the ma' uncleta' ritual, in this research the author uses qualitative research through techniques collecting literature studies, research observations, and interviews with 8 informants consisting of pastors, church councilors, congregation members, and people performing the ma' uncleta' ritual. Thus, from this research, the ma' Pamanta' ritual is carried out in the hope that the rain will not disrupt the event and that during the process of sowing the rice seeds the seeds will not be scattered, where the Ma' Bapata' ritual is still believed in and practiced by a small number of members of the To'rea congregation until now. The author hopes that the members of the congregation will truly live in Christian teachings and abandon old beliefs contrary to Christian teachings. Keywords: Church, Ma' Pamanta'
