Abstract
Oktafiani Dewi, Ma'pesung, Kajian Teologis Makna Ritual Ma'pesung dan Dampaknya terhadap Kekristenan di Desa Barana Kecamatan Bassesangtempe Utara. Skripsi ini diangkat berdasarkan latar belakang dimana masyarakat desa barana masih menghidupi Ritual nia'pesung karena masih adanya kepercayaan jika tidak melakukan ritual tersebut akan ada dampakyang terjadi kepada mereka. Yang dibimbing oleh dibimbing oleh Berna Sule M.Th. selaku pembimbing I dan Darius M.Th selaku pembimbing II. Ma'pesung adalah upacara atau ritual penyembahan kepada dewa dan arwah nenek moyang yang sudah meninggal dengan membawa persembahan-persembahan berupa makanan, beras ketan, memotong ayam hitam, dan pangan untuk dipersembahkan kepada arwah atau nenek yang sudah mendahului. Dengan rumusan masalah: Apa makna yang terkandung dalam ritual nia'pesung dan bagaimana dampak ritual nia'pesung terhadap Kekristenan di Desa Barana Kecamatan Bassesangtempe Utara. Dengan menggunakan teori Chaterine Bell dan Emil Durkheim. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan penelitian kualitatif, yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif, mengamati dan melakukan wawancara dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai makna yang terkandung dalam ritual nia'pesung dan dampaknya terhadap kekristenan untuk diberikan analisis secara teologis . Dengan demikian diakhir skripsi ini, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa analisis teologis tentang makna yang terkandung dalam ritual nia'pesung yang dilakukan masyarakat khususnya di desa Barana kecamatan Bassesangtempe merupakan suatu perwujudan ketaatan kepada dewa dan juga sebagai wujud penghormatan kepada arwah leluhur dengan memberikan sesajian berupa korban persembahan kepada arwah leluhur dan dewa. Tetapi dalam kalangan Kristen sebagai orang percaya sebagian tidak lagi percaya dengan ritual tersebut tetapi dilakukan hanya menghargai adat yang ada dan hanya menghormati orang yang sudah mendahului mereka dan ada juga sebagian warga gereja yang percaya terhadap rituak tersebut jika tidak melakukan ritual nia'pesung akan mendapatkan tulah atau karma. This thesis was raised based on the backgrourid where the Barana village community still lives the Ma'pesung ritual because there is still a belief that if they don't perform the ritual there will be an impact on them. Who was superuised by Berna sule M.Th as supervisor 1 and Darius M.Th as supervisor 2. Ma' pesung is a ceremony or ritual of worshiping the gods and spirits of deceased ancestors by bringing ojferings in theform offood, glutinous rice, cutting black chicken,tuak, betel, to be offered to the gods and spirits or ancestors who have preceded them. With the formulation ofthe problem: what is the meaning contained in the ma'pesung ritual and what is the impact of the ma'pesung ritual on Christianity in Barana' village, North Bassesang Tempe sub-district, using the theory ofCatherine Bell and Emil Durkheim In this study, the authors used qualitative research. Namely by using a descriptive approach, observing and conducting interviews with the aim of obtaining Information about the meaning contained in the ma'pesung ritual and its impact on Christianity for theological analysis Thus at the end of this thesis, the authors conclude that the analysis ofthe meaning contained in the ritual of ma'pesung which is carried out by the community, especially in Barana Village, Bassesangtempe District, is a manifestation ofobedience to the gods and also as aform ofrespectfor the ancestral spirits by giving ojferings in theforni of ojferings to the spirits. Ancestors and gods.but in Christian circles as believers no longer believe in rituals but this is done only respecting existing customs and only respecting people who have gone before them and there are also some church niembers who still believe in these rituals ifthey don't perform the ma' pesung ritual they will get plague or karma.
